Six old villages in the park have been designated as architectural monuments. One of them, Salos-II, became a Cultural Reserve. This village and four others: Šuminai, Strazdai, Vaišnoriškės and Varniškės-II, are classified as scattered villages. Kretuonys belongs to the group of one-street villages. All ethnographic villages are like open air museums. It’s easy to understand why one of them was chosen for filming movie about the Lithuanian Robin Hood “Tadas Blinda”.
